It was a passion for my own personal development that brought me to counselling training in 2009. I was practising yoga and meditation and I felt that I wanted to challenge myself at deeper levels of my personality.
I am a registered UKCP psychotherapist and MBACP counsellor. I offer individual and couples therapy as well as individual and group supervision. My previous background was in sociology, research and lecturing, working mainly with ethnic minorities and I currently work in the NHS as a counsellor, supervisor, group facilitator, and trainer.
Therapy can be useful to help with many common aspects of life, such as depression and anxiety, it can be an opportunity to find a way to explore difficult experiences that have happened to us in a non-judgemental setting. I have also extensive experience working with recovery from trauma, addiction, relationship difficulties, gender related issues, low confidence.
I am committed to being part and witness of emotional and psychological recovery. I believe that effective therapy involves trust, respect and dialogue and in my work, I embrace the creative, relational and embodied aspects of Gestalt.
Please contact me if you have any question or if you want to arrange an initial consultation.
I work as an integrative psychotherapist providing therapy in a friendly and supportive environment. My approach is psychodynamic, which means, it focuses on understanding unconscious processes. I believe in healing the whole person which includes mind, body and spirit. I also offer guided meditation and breathing exercises and if needed, we can work with integrating psychotherapy and yoga techniques as there are many parallels between the two therapies.
It was the experience of having been a client myself and seen how much I gained from my own therapy, that inspired me to train and qualify as a psychotherapist. Even though making that first step is hard, it is undeniably a step towards healing. I will work with you and support you with an open mind, warmth and understanding as you heal, change and grow.
I have a Masters degree in psychotherapy and healing and I am a registered member with the BACP. I hold private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist with both adults and children.
I can offer help with the following: depression, anger management, anxiety and stress, cultural issues, personal development, relationships, self esteem, abuse, trauma, bereavement, sleep problems, Jungian dream analysis, play therapy (children).
