Yoga workshop with Jim Tarran
Specifically aimed at yoga teachers and teacher trainees this workshop counts as CPD.
Learn various alignment refinements and how alignment is a term that has to incorporate awareness of energy flow expressed as respiratory ease and depth.
How visualisation and equipment use can help the refinement of alignment for a class or an individual student.
How alignment can be used to hone attention, alleviate specific problems, change or deepen the students understanding of the actions or movement flows in specific āsana.
A sometimes controversial subject we we learn:
When it is appropriate and when not to make adjustment
How to prioritise and masterfully give verbal adjustment cues
The value of students self adjusting and guide markers for them to successfully so
Looking at anatomy as a guide to the how, why and when with regards to adjustment and alignment:
We will explore anatomical structures and the body overall inter-relatedness of the physio-anatomy
We will look at models of anatomical structures to learn more deeply why we might adjust or re-align a student or group of students
We will learn how to use anatomical maps to explore the living terrain of the bodily experience.
Dates: Saturday 9 June
