Charlie Dare Jackson

Charlie began her yoga journey at Yoga Point with Vaccasin in her twenties and she has been devoted to the subject ever since.

A few years after discovering yoga, she moved to India to the Himalayas to study in a traditional environment under the guidance of Usha Devi (senior teacher of Iyengar Yoga) and Siddhartha Krishna (teacher of classical Vedanta and yoga philosophy) at Omkarananda Ganga Sadan Asham.

In India, she was introduced to classical vedantic and yogic scripture and took up the study of the ancient Indian language, Sanskrit.  This was a rich period of learning and she was able to immerse herself fully in Iyengar Yoga within the context of ancient Indian philosophical traditions.  Towards the end of her time at the ashram she had the privilege of teaching and assisting classes.

Since then, she has made trips to the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) to study with the Iyengar family and she continues to study with them online in the UK.  Her primary teacher in London is Richard Agar-Ward.

Charlie’s teaching style is clear, dynamic and light-hearted with yoga philosophy woven through.  Her intention is to teach from a place of purity and to share the light of yoga with others.
