Lucia is a Yoga and Pilates teacher and Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. She is also a tutor and examiner on a British Wheel and Yoga Alliance 200Hr Teacher Training with Teach Yoga Ltd in North London. She has been practicing since 2009, teaching group and individual classes to adults, teens and children and also ben offering Thai Yoga Massage as an ideal therapeutic complement to her Yoga and Pilates students’ journey towards balance.
After several years of ballet and contemporary dance training, Lucia’s passion for movement and dance led her to explore Yoga and Pilates. Through Yoga and Pilates she found a way to focus on body alignment with the strength and grace of the postures whilst adding a more holistic and positive approach to the body and mind connection.
Lucia’s Yoga teaching is influenced and inspired by her ballet and Pilates training: attention to detail, focus on healthy body alignment and breath and core connection are the pillars of her practice. Lucia believes it is paramount to ensure that the Yoga postures she guides her students through will serve them on their journey. How is this practice going to benefit her students in becoming the best they can be on and off the mat? How functional will it be for their body and mind? How will it leave them as they step off the mat and take their experience into the rest of their day?
Because of that, her classes will take her students through a functional balance of strength and flexibility building postures whilst she encourages them to use their breath as an anchor to the present moment: body and mind working together with the invaluable support of the breath.
Lucia has studied with teachers Jo Manuel, Gary Carter, Cameron Shayne and Dr Elena Voyce. She started her journey into Thai Yoga Massage in Thailand with Ralf Marzen and continued specialising in advanced massage practices with Kira Balaskas in London.
