Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to book a class or can I just turn up?
The classes operate on a drop-in basis. There is no need to book regular classes (all classes except workshops), just turn up. If you haven't been before it is good to arrive 10 mins before the class is due to start to introduce yourself to the teacher.
Will there be room in the class or do I need to book?
Classes vary, some are busier than others but currently there will be room in the class if you just turn up and we do not operate a booking system for classes.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable. Yoga is practised in bare feet and most people wear leggings/shorts and a t-shirt/top. We have male and female changing rooms but no showers.
I am a complete beginner can I just come along and try a class?
Yes you can attend any of the classes that say 'Beginners' or 'All welcome'. There is no need to book.
Are there any yoga for pregnancy classes?
No, not at the moment.
Is there somewhere to leave my bike?
There are a couple of bike racks opposite the studio. Unfortunately there is no room inside the studio to bring bikes in.
Is there any parking near Yoga Point?
Yoga Point is in a Brixton parking zone which operates Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm (please always check before parking). There are parking metres.
Can I attend a yoga class if I am pregnant?
In general no, our classes are not suitable if you are pregnant. However some teachers may allow a student they know well to continue attending classes when they are pregnant. Yoga is contraindicated during the first trimester.
Is there a concessionary rate for classes?
Yes there is for people who are unemployed (and on benefits) and full-time students. We ask people to show proof of their concession status, including evidence that study is full-time and to please show respect and not cheat the system.
How can I pay?
We accept cash or cards.
Do I need to bring anything?
Yoga Point is fully equipped so there is no need to bring a mat, belt or blocks etc. There are male and female changing rooms but no showers.
Are there showers at Yoga Point
There are no showers.
How can I tell which style of yoga the class will be?
You can click on the class on the timetable which will take you to information about the teacher taking that class. You can also look on the Yoga information page for some information about yoga and the different styles of classes available.
