Karen Livesey MRSS (registered practitioner with the Shiatsu Society)

Karen is an experienced practitioner with over ten years clinical experience of working on musclo-skeletal issues, with a holistic approach that also takes the emotional dimension into account. She had a substantial career as a film-maker & community worker before training at the British School of Shiatsu-Do and qualifying as a practitioner in 2005.

An interest in an energetic approach to life began with Aikido, a martial art Karen practiced in her teens. Since then a combination of meditation and creative experimentation has underpinned her work. Prior to qualifying as a Shiatsu Practitioner, she worked in community development and as a documentary film-maker. In this often unpredictable and stressful industry Karen found Shiatsu a profoundly effective way of rebalancing and altering her energetic state. This led to her studying Shiatsu.

Karen’s broad client base includes those looking for general health support, of a musculo-skeletal nature, to relaxation and stress relief. She also enjoy working closely with people tackling anxiety, addiction issues, and artists /people stuck in their creative flow.

Karen tops up up her skills and energy with ongoing study and an interest in Movement Shiatsu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_raUmaqm7M. Practicing Qigong, a movement-based form of energy work and outdoor swimming all year, also supports my shiatsu work and personal development.
