Joy started her career as an aerobics teacher but after injury learned Scaravelli yoga as part of her rehabilitation. Scaravelli Yoga uses gravity and the breath to make significant shifts in the spine. Joy subsequently trained to teach this style and has taught classes for over 20 years for numerous organisations and institutions, including prisons. More recently she started combining the practice with Vinyasa flow which gives a more dynamic and varied approach.
Joy’s monthly workshops are open to all and students are encouraged to work at their own level. Joy will encourage her students to develop an individual practice and learn to recognise what works and discard what doesn’t. The classes are healing, fun and empowering and there is enough variety to meet the needs of a complete beginner as well as the seasoned yogi.
